 Post subject: Egg crate alternative?

Now I know someone is going in to this thinking "Fluro light diffuser" but I can't find that and I have an idea...

That plastic paving stuff you buy at Bunnings etc to hold stone driveways/ paths stable

Would I be able to buy some of that and put it under my substrate? (I know it's not needed but knowing me I'll drop a rock on the bottom and break the tank :( )

Any way would it be safe? I'm thinking of buying one sheet (50mm high) and splitting it in two (way cheaper than egg crate on tardme... )

Will it be toxic? Or safe?

I would check if it's food grade plastic. That's a good starting point.
