Do I need to use marine ply or can I use standard ply?
I'm thinking of using 25mm.

Standard ply is fine, as long as you are going to prime and paint the wood.

If not, use marine ply.

I used 12mm stuff for my stand and honestly that is more than enough, assuming you are using 2x3 or 2x4 for your framing and the ply is only for wrapping the stand structure.

2x3, 2x4, and 2x6

Do you need to use clear pine or framing timber?
The house framing stuff has radius edges which is not ideal.
Do I get it from bunnings or a timber supplier?
