Interested to know how it reduces/eliminates cycle time? doesn't the bacteria still need to grow?

If added to an existing set up, just like a completely clean dry product it won't cause a cycle as there is nothing to die off. If used from scratch, being clean with nothing to rot extended cycle times should be reduced (depending on method to create cycle.)
