This week I made a sobering and frightening discovery.
I'd emptied my heavily modded rsm250 with diy LEDs and sump to sell as I've replaced with an Aqua One 400.
While I was checking the condition prior to selling, I noticed a bit of bubbling on the rear panel.
(A couple of years ago I'd cut the RSM cabinet to fit a sump) Investigated the cause and water had got into the wood and cracked the sheet. Also noticed an inner crack in the RSM tank from moving it outside!

Had to pull the sale :( dumped the cabinet and tank today.

I don't think I'll have a totally wood cabinet again. Another 6 months and i reckon the cabinet would've failed!!! Must stress it was due to me cutting the cabinet and not sealing the wood correctly. If you do have a wooden cabinet purchased from a store I'd check the cabinet for any 'bubbling'. It may be alerting a problem.

The RSM was an awesome kit and allowed me to learn and make many mods st my own pace.

PS if anyone wants to buy an RSM hood with 300w LEDs installed and using the stock electrics pm me.
